Fall Styles 2010 – Men

Although were still in the midst of summer, the catwalks were full of Fall 2010 wear way back in February. Major trends sneak around season after season and Fashionolia are here to bring you the lowdown on trends to watch out for when Fall lines come into store, which by the way isn’t too far off. Stores usually have summer sales around August and then get Fall stock in shortly after, making seasonal shopping a little difficult, especially when the weather is as unpredictable as it has been the past couple of years.

Mens Fashion for Fall 2010

Over-sized Scarves were a big trend for Fall with Banana Replublic and Y-3, wrapped around the neck two or three times for an on-trend style. Try ASOS and Hennes for an over-sized scarf. To keep the look low key, team the scarf with a plain jumper or tee, fitted jeans and pumps.

Fighter Pilot Fashion was a huge trend on the catwalk for this coming Fall, with designer such as Burberry and D&G dressing their male models in sheepskin jackets and jeans tucked into boots. If this catwalk look is a little too ‘fashion’ for you, take a tip from the catwalks and invest in browns, beige and greens. Sheepskin coats will be everywhere next season but snap up a bargain now and pick yours up from your local flee market for half the price of the high street.

Preppyfashion takes on a whole new level this year with a twist of Liverpoodlian chic, with polo shirts fastened to the neck and trousers tucked into socks, accompanied by boots and brightly coloured shoe laces. The preppy trend is still present with cardigans staying around for another season, so invest in muted colours such as dark grey, black and navy and work with brighter t-shirts and polo shirts underneath. One tip those guys, stay away from the trousers tucked into sock chic…not a good look!

Coatsare set to be the major item trend this coming season, so hide away those hoodies and purchase a smart belted mac. Burberry and Yves Saint Laurent both designed great looking macs, perfect for interviews or to wear over a suit at a special occasions. Sometimes a man has to slip off his trainers and look smart. Plus the ladies love this look once in a while. Try Banana Republic, Gap and Hennes for some fabulous catwalk inspired macs, under $50. A coat is an investment so if you can spend more then try Dunhill or Lacoste for a sporty take on the trend. Wear tailored trousers and a white tee and pumps if you feel too styled.
