Stella McCartney goes for gold

After joining the Adidas team in September of 2004, Stella McCartney (renowned for her successful career in the fashion world and her famous father, Sir Paul McCartney) has created countless collections, with one of her most exciting being her first ever capsule collection in her role as creative director of Team GB, the athletic brand with just one real motive: to make the nation look good.

Just in time for the 2012 Olympics, Team GB provides a fully extensive range for both sports enthusiasts and Olympic spectators, which includes studded marl sweaters, gold foil shirts and tattooed leggings, that all come complete with the national British lion logo imprinted on them. To continue the patriotic trend of the brand, each piece within the collection is also made from a selection of suitably-dyed fabrics that pay homage to the traditional Union Jack flag.

“It’s a real pleasure to be working with the British colours,” said McCartney. “This is the time to be patriotic – with an attitude.”

The collection is available from a selection of UK stores from May 16th 2011, giving us Brits an exciting taster of what to expect for the big games. The pieces retail from around £29 and upwards – a great price for a practical garment and a designer name to add to your clothing collection!
